Lets talk about movies, baby!

Best. Decade. Ever. I don't know how anything could top the movies that came out the past 10 years, they'll never be able to! I wanted to highlight just a few of my favories, feel free to comment your favories in my guest book!!

Crash (1996)

David Cronenberg strikes again! I'm convinced theres nothing he can't to, I can't say that everyone in the theater agreed with me, just about everyone walked out. Do poeple not read descriptions anymore? James Spader and Holly Hunter deliver next level performances, I'm starting to become suspicious of James Spader. He sure likes his weird moives. I love the visual dulness of the film, I think it perfectly represents technological advancement and how obsessed our society has become with cars. Maybe they were lost on the metaphor? I can't see why... Talk about dramatic!

Scream (1996/7)

I feel quite spoiled getting two scream films in the span of a year, especially when they're both fantastic in their own right. Scream (1996) has one of the COOLEST opening scenes ever!! I was rooting for Casey, though. I love Drew Barrymore (who doesn't?) Fantastic performances all around, especially from Matthew Lillard and Neve Campbell. I saw it 6 times in theaters, I couldn't get enough.

Scream 2 being delivered in such a short time period was such a treat!! Once again, it has one of the coolest opening scenes, can you imagine dying in front of everyone at a moive theater? I love that Scream has their own scresque film in their universe called 'Stabbed'. Wes Cravenis is incredibly creative, I hope theres more on the horizon.

Wild at Heart (1990)

p { color: #FF69B4; }

One of the coolest movies I've ever watched, David Lynch is truly a master of his craft. I was entranced the entire time, Lynch's love of The Wizard of Oz shines throughouh the film. If it isn't obvious, Sheryl Lee literally flies down from the clouds in a bubble while dressed like Glinda. Nic Cage and Laura Dern deliver some stellar performances, their chemistry is undeniable. I. Love. This. Once again, people were walking out of the theater. So overkill! Maybe they didn't like how well Nic Cage parodied Elvis? I guess the power of love is lost on them.

Twin Peaks

There is absoluely no way you can talk about the 90s without even mentioning Twin Peaks. Everyone wanted to know who killed Laura Palmer, the darkness of the suburbs was broadcasted on all of our television screens. Its unlike anyting I have ever seen before, it embrases the absurdity of life so effectively. When it was revealed that Leland killed Laura and Maddie, I felt like I couldn't move my eyes away from the screen. The cliffhanger ending is going to drive me crazy!!! What could possibly happen in 25 years? I just hope Dale Cooper is okay.... I was totally convinced tha Leo Johnson had killed Laura but looking back, he's too much of a red herring. If I have to wait 25 years for a third season, I might lose my mind! Who knows if we'll even be alive by then?

But I'm a Cheerleader (1999)

One of the funniest movies I've ever watched! Not only is the writing fantasitc, the performances are also top notch. Natasha Lyonne and Clea DuVall have fantastic on screen chemistry. I love how angry this film makes people, I guess people don't enjoy reflecting on their own bigotry. This is the exact film we needed right now, its nice to see a movie that focuses on queer character that isn't sad. Rupaul himself was once "a gay". What more could you want from a movie?
